Fox Valley Driving School Teen Program

We have limited our class size to 25 students per session, even though Secretary of State allows a maximum of 35 students in class sessions. Our number one goal is to educate students to be safe and responsible drivers, and by limiting our class size to a smaller ratio, we believe we can accomplish this better. Yes, other local driving schools will fill up their classrooms to the maximum allowed, and we have heard the complaints from both parents and students of their classrooms being disruptive and students driving away not learning safe and responsible driving. Deliberately taking a chance with a vehicle, with its great capacity for harm and destruction, should be unthinkable. The potential for suffering harm and loss is too great, and possible penalties are too serious. So even though we realize that we may lose business as we have limited our class size, that's a risk we are willing to do, to possibly not only reduce, but help eliminate accidents young drivers are involved in.

Our Teen Driver Education Program is approved in accordance with the rules of the Office of the Secretary of State and the Board of Education. We will instruct the student in the basic operation and maneuvering of a motor vehicle to provide a solid base for becoming a proficient and safe driver. This will be accomplished by teaching the Rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, physical and emotional aspects of driving along with legal and financial responsibilities of driving. Per Illinois State regulations the student will be required to take a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction, six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction and six hours of in-car observation. Our Instructors will inform the parent of the student’s progress after each behind the wheel session as long as the parent is available.
